(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, July 31, 2002) – About 15 Russian soldiers, supposedly border guards entered Georgian territory in Marukhi pass, Kodori gorge, breakaway Abkhazia at 8.00 a.m. today. According to Georgian Defense Ministry they are about to leave right now.
Upper Kodori gorge is the only territory in breakaway Abkhazia controlled by the Georgian government. Davit Tevzadze, the Defense Minister left for Kodori. Georgian Defense Ministry has no detail information of the incident.
