Pankisi Bombed Again

(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, August 8, 2002) – Georgia’s Iron Mountain in Pankisi gorge was bombed last night by the flying objects, which entered the Georgian airspace from the Russian side.

Georgian State Security Minister Valeri Khaburdzania told the reporters on August 7 that the report concerning the bombing is base on evidences given by the witnesses.

Iron Mountain is located 30 kilometers away from the Georgian-Russian border in Georgia’s Pankisi gorge.

This is the second case of bombing of Pankisi gorge in the recent days.
