(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, August 20, 2002) – Georgian State Security Minister Valeri Khaburdzania stated today there is several group of criminals, which were involved in the abduction case of British citizen Peter Shaw.
“The first group is which ordered the abduction and second is which fulfilled the order and abducted the British citizen. The first group’s aim was to discredit Georgian international image and the goal of the second one was money,” Valeri Khaburdzania said in the interview to the Rustavi 2 TV channel on August 20.
Seven gunmen kidnapped British citizen Peter Show, co-director of the Agro-Business Bank of Georgia in Tbilisi from his own car late at night on June 18.
Security Minister said that there are foreign citizens, together with Georgians, among the criminals involved in the abduction case.
