(Tbilisi, September 7, Civil Georgia) 1st Channel of the Russian TV reported that leaders of Georgia’s secessionist provinces met in Sukhumi to discuss security concerns.
President of self-proclaimed South Ossetia Eduard Kokoev and prime-miniter of Abkhazia Anri Jergenia commented to Russian TV on Pankisi operation, saying it is just a staged show.
Mr. Kokoev said Chechen boeviks “squeezed out by the Georgian authorities have positioned themselves along the border of South Ossetia and Russia.”Mr. Jergenia argued Pankisi operation “is a logical part of the Georgian policy to squeeze Russia out of the Caucasus.”
According to the Russian TV reports Abkhazia promised military support to South Ossetia in case of escalation.
