(Tbilisi, September 11, 2002, Civil Georgia) – Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze stated at the government’s meeting today that he sent a letter of condolence to his American counterpart George W. Bush concerning the one-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington.
“I expressed deep regret concerning the tragedy. Georgia supports the US anti-terrorist campaign. Terrorism should be combated everywhere in the world,” President Shevardnadze stated.
Georgian Parliament adopted a statement concerning the 9/11 terrorist attacks, condemning international terrorism.
