(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, December 10, 2002) – On Monday, police launched a crackdown in Kutaisi, Georgia’s second-largest city in western part of the country.
Interior Ministry Spokesman Paata Gomelauri said large quantities of firearms, grenades and ammunition were confiscated and three murder suspects were detained during the operation.
The anti-crime operation was held in Georgian capital city Tbilisi on December 6-7. Police plan to conduct such operations throughout the nation, Gomelauri said.
