(Tbilisi, December 13, 2002. Civil Georgia) – Russian President’s personal envoy for the Abkhazian conflict settlement Valri Loshchinin met with the newly appointed Prime Minister of breakaway Abkhazia Genadi Gagulia on December 12.
The Russian Foreign Ministry reports that the sides agreed to activate the peace process.
Genadi Gagulia, which was appointed on the post of the Prime Minister in late November, said in the interview to the Russian daily Izvestia, that he would seek for the closer ties with Russia rather than with Georgia.
