(Tbilisi, January 18, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Parliamentary special session discusses today situation in Georgia’s breakaway Abkhazia.
Granting of the Russian citizenship to the population living in Abkhazia and reopening of the railway connection between Russia and Abkhazia are the top issues during the discussion.
Georgian Foreign Minister Irakli Menagharishvili and Minister of Transport and Communications Merab Adeishvili attend the Parliamentary session.
The Transport Minister will inform the MPs concerning his recent visit to Moscow regarding the reopening of the railway connection.
The Foreign Minister will deliver information concerning the measures taken by the Georgian government in response to the Russia’s unilateral moves in Abkhazia.
