(Tbilisi, January 31, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Reports say Georgia’s breakaway South Ossetian authorities mobilize their armed forces and police in the capital city Tskhinvali.
Georgian President’s personal envoy for the South Ossetian conflict settlement MP Vakhtang Rcheulishvili told Civil Georgia today that the military hardware and arms were dispatched in Tskhinvali from Russia.
“Mobilization of the forces in the region launched after the statement of the Russian MP Anatoli Chekhoev, which said that Georgia intends intervention in South Ossetia,” Rcheulishvili said.
Georgian President’s envoy for the conflict settlement intends to visit Tskhinvali in the nearest days and convince the South Ossetian de facto authorities that Georgia supports peaceful resolution of the conflict.
