(Tbilisi February 12, 2003. Civil Georgia) – The first meeting of the sub-commission on reforms of the election system held its first meeting today.
Representatives of the NGOs, leading political parties, Interior and Justice Ministries participated in the work of the sub-commission. President’s Parliamentary Secretary Mariam Tsatsanashvili chairs a sub-commission.
Creation of the new Central Election Commission and drafting precise list of voters – these are the top demands of the NGOs and opposition parties.
The sub-commission was created on February 10 as a result of the President Shevardnadze’s decree.
