(Tbilisi. March 10, 2003. Civil Georgia) – President Shevardnadze criticized his personal representative for Abkhazian conflict settlement Aslan Abashidze, which is the Head of the Adjarian Autonomous Republic, for unilateral decision regarding the Abkhazian conflict resolution.
?He [Abashidze] travels in Moscow and discusses proposals how to solve the conflict, which are not agreed with Georgian President. This can not be continued this way,? Eduard Shevardnadze said at the news briefing today.
President Shevardnadze appointed Aslan Abashidze on the post of his envoy for the Abkhaz conflict settlement in 2001.
