(Tbilisi. May 5, 2003. Civil Georgia) – NATO military experts arrive today in Georgia to evaluate the reforms carried out in Georgian Armed Forces necessary for joining the NATO.
NATO delegation will hold meetings with the leadership of the Georgian Ministry of Defense and visit several military units.
The military experts from NATO visit Georgia every year since 1999 to assess reforms in the Georgian army.
On May 14 visit of the NATO Secretary General Lord George Robertson is scheduled.
Georgian President Shevardnadze made an official bid for Georgia-s membership to NATO last November at the summit of the alliance in Prague.
