(Tbilisi, May 12, 2003. Civil Georgia) – President Shevardnadze hopes that in the nearest future Georgia will be represented in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
“It is a pleasure to know that the country has an army of NATO standards, members of which are actively engaged in PK operations. Here I mean Kosovo, where a Georgian squad is conducting PK activities for quite long time. Such activities facilitate to Georgia’s rapid integration into the NATO structures” – Shevardnadze said in his Monday Radio Interview on May 12.
President also did not rule out that an international conference might be held in Georgia under the NATO patronage.
