Zhvania Accuses Government for Budgetary Shortfall

(Tbilisi, May 16, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Leader of the opposition United Democrats party Zurab Zhvania accused government and the President in budgetary shortfall during the first four months of 2003.

He said that the shortfall in the revenues exceeds 42 million Lari (USD 19.5 million). “This is only for four months, even worse budgetary crisis is anticipated by the end of the year,” He added. 

“Georgia has no government and President able to cope with the problems. The government is absolutely absorbed with the pre-election activity leaving social, economic and Abkhazian problem unsolved,” Zurab Zhvania leader of the United Democrats said at the news briefing today.
