Energy Minister Visits Moscow

(Tbilisi, May 17, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Fuel and Energy Minister David Mirtskhulava arrived to Moscow today to continue negotiations with the Russian colleagues. On May 16 Russian Deputy Energy Minister Anatoly Ianovski visited Tbilisi and met with President Shevardnadze.

At the meeting the sides discussed prospects of cooperation in the energy sphere.

The Russian side expressed willingness to participate in rehabilitation of Vardnili and Enguri hydro power stations and construction of the new HPPs.

David Mirtskhulava is visiting Moscow with purpose to discuss these issues in details with the Russian energy authorities.
