IMF Executive Director Urges Implementation of the Recommendations

(Tbilisi, May 23, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund Jeroen Kremers is critical about the current state of implementation of the IMF recommendations by the Georgian side. He said that if the recommendations will not be implemented in the nearest future, IMF will suspend donor assistance to Georgia.

“6 weeks are enough time for Georgia to fulfill all obligations. Otherwise the country will face default” the executive director said at a press conference in Tbilisi today.

IMF delegation will arrive to Georgia in the last decade of June.
