(Tbilisi, May 30 2003, Civil Georgia) Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze left for St.-Petersburg today to participate in the festivities dedicated to the 300th anniversary of St.-Petersburg.
Later a two-hour long informal meeting of the CIS leaders will be held, after which the heads of states will brief the reporters on the themes discussed at the meeting.
The issue of extension of Russian peacekeepers’ mandate in Abkhazia is expected to be discussed at the meeting, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.
