(Tbilisi, May 30 2003, Civil Georgia) Georgian State Minister Avtandil Jorbenadze met today with Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze before the beginning of the extraordinary session aimed to discuss the amendments to the Election Code.
“The pro-governmental alliance is ready for composing the minority in the election commission”, – State Minister Jorbenadze told the reporters after the closed meeting with the Parliamentary Chairperson.
However, he did not specify the level of the commissions – central or lower, as well as refrained from naming possible quotas, since the consultations are proceeding.
“We find it important to hold fair elections in Georgia and to demonstrate that the opposition and the government can cooperate through the language of understanding”, – Jorbenadze said.
