(Tbilisi, May 30 2003, Civil Georgia) Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Kakha Sikharulidze did not confirm the information disseminated by Russian Foreign Ministry regarding the discussion of the Abkhazian issue and the extension of Russian peacekeepers’ mandate during the informal summit of the CIS leaders in St.-Petersburg.
“Important issues, especially such as signing of the document on extension of peacekeepers’ mandate, are never discussed during informal, brief meetings”, – Sikharulidze said at the today’s briefing in Tbilisi.
Along with the festivities dedicated to the 300th anniversary of St.-Petersburg, an informal summit of the CIS leaders took place in St.-Petersburg today.
