The pro-governmental Parliamentary factions agreed to discuss the issue of disbanding the existing Central Election Commission in the evening.
Before that the Parliamentary factions will hold consultation on the issue.
The opposition’s draft considers composition of the new CEC with the representatives of the political parties. At the same time the members of the acting CEC will not have the right to take a seat in the new CEC. The draft also considers that the new commission should be created before July 1.
Chairman of the Central Election Commission Jumber Lominadze and other 9 members of the commission out of 19 quitted the posts today, as couple of thousand people gathered in front of the Parliament demand the CEC’s disband and ensuring conduction of the democratic elections.
