(Tbilisi, July 24, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Georgian authorities say they have no official information regarding the reported talks between the US-owned AES and Unified Energy Systems of Russia (UES) regarding the possible sale of AES-Telasi shares to the Russian company.
The representatives of the UES refrain from comments. “We cannot make any comment regarding the AES-Telasi at the moment,” Tatiana Miliaeva, Spokeswoman of the UES told Civil Georgia on July 24. The AES-Telasi also makes no comment regarding the issue.

ording to the unofficial reports the AES, which owns 75% of shares of the Tbilisi electricity distribution company Telasi, holds talks with the Russian power giant over the possible deal. The 25% of the company shares is state-owned.
