Burjanadze Dismisses Jorbenadze’s Accusations Towards Parliament

(Tbilisi, July 24, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze dismissed the State Minister Avtandil Jorbenadze’s accusation that the Parliament is ineffective as “groundless.”

“The Parliament is much more affective than the executive government, which permanently fails to meet the budgetary targets,” Nino Burjanadze said at the briefing today.

State Minister Avtandil Jorbenadze said at the government’s meeting on July 23 that partially the Parliament’s incompetence is the reason of failure to fu! lfill the International Monetary Fund’s recommendations.   

Nino Burjanadze said today, while commenting the Jorbenadze’s statement that the anti-Parliamentary campaign had been launched which is directed towards the Parliamentary Chairperson.
