UES Chief Ready for Constructive Cooperation with Georgia

(Tbilisi, August 6, 2003, Civil Georgia) – The Russian Unified Energy System (UES) is ready for constructive cooperation with the Georgian authorities, Chief of EUS Anatoly Chubais said upon his arrival in the Tbilisi Airport on August 6.

“Our supreme goal is to increase reliability of power supply in the country and to illuminate Georgian families,” the UES Chief said.

While commenting on the current electricity tariffs in Georgia, Chubais said the tariffs are high enough to further increase them.

“Electricity tariffs are hi!
gher in Georgia than in Russia. I do not see any necessity to further increase them,” Chubais stated.
