(Tbilisi, August 8, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Russian Foreign Ministry welcomed on August 7 cooperation between the Russian Unified Energy System (UES) and the Georgian authorities.
The Ministry reports that the agreement would boost bilateral trade and economic ties between the two countries.
On August 6 chief of the UES Anatoly Chubais visited Tbilisi and held talks with the Georgian leadership. The UES purchased strategic power facilities in Georgia from the US company AES.
