(Tbilisi, August 12, 2003, Civil Georgia) – The Embassy of the Russian Federation to Georgia delivered a protest note to the Georgian Foreign Ministry on August 12, expressing concern over the attack on Alexander Valyukh, the First Secretary of the Russian Embassy.
Last night several masked gunmen tried to seize Alexander Valyukh’s car and hit him with a rifle. However, after the Russian diplomat resisted, the criminals disappeared.
The Russian Embassy hopes that the Georgian authorities will detain the criminals as soon as p!
ossible.
