Patarkatsishvili Calls to Boost Economic Ties with Abkhazia

(Tbilisi, August 17, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Badri Patarkatsishvili – Tbilisi-based tycoon and former aide to Russian mogul Boris Berezovsky, wanted by Russia for fraud allegations, told Interperss news agency that boosting economic ties with breakaway Abkhazia would be a best way to resolve the conflict.

Badri Patarkatsishvili gained influence in Georgia as couple of years ago he started to build a media empire, either acquiring control of or establishing a TV and radio company, a daily newspaper, and a news agenc!

On August 16 he welcomed Georgian political establishment in Ureki at Georgia’s Black Sea coast on the official ceremony of opening the coastal tourist complex.

President Shevardnadze, as well as Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze, who attended the ceremony, hailed Patarkatsishvili’s activity in Georgia and his multimillion investments in the country.
