(Tbilisi, August 28, 2003, Civil Georgia) – The Russian energy giant Itera?s Tbilisi office reported on August 27 that the company will again cut the gas supply to Georgia on August 29, because of the country?s failure to repay its debt.

?Itera warned Tbilgaz [the Georgian state-owned gas distribution company in the capital city] several times to pay for its consumed gas, but the Georgian side has failed so far,? reads Itera?s letter to the Tbilisi municipality.

The Russian company is the only gas supplier to Georgia at the moment. The company has already cu!
