(Tbilisi, September 8, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Today Georgian Defense Minister Davit Tevzadze, U.S. Ambassador in Georgia Richard Miles and other officials will participate in the opening ceremony of RESCUER/MEDICEUR 2003 NATO Partnership for Peace (PfP) program exercise at Vaziani military base near Tbilisi.
In the course of exercises, which will last till September 22, 300 personnel from the U.S. European Command, U.S. Navy Europe and Georgian Ministry of Defense, will create a Multi-National!
Task Force in response to simulated disaster.
RESCUER/MEDICEUR 2003 is designed to promote a common understanding of Peace Support Operations and enhance military interoperability through combined Humanitarian/Disaster Relief operations.
