New Members Join Pro-Presidential Election Bloc

(Tbilisi, September 9, 2003, Civil Georgia) – – Tamaz Nadareishvili, head of the Tbilisi-based Abkhaz government-in-exile, today joined thepresidential-backed election alliance For New Georgia.

MP Irakli Batiashvili, Chairman of the Parliament’s Committee for Defense and Security, and MP Gia Karkarashvili also joined the presidential-backed bloc.

One of the leaders of the election alliance For New Georgia and governor of the Kvemo Kartli region, Levan Mamaladze, decided to resign from the governor’s post and run for MP. He will be fourth on the list of MP candidates.
