The Burjanadze-Democrats opposition election bloc proposed today a nominee of Vasil Maghlaperidze, who will run for MP in the Saburtalo constituency of Tbilisi.
“I am sure that Maghlaperidze will be a worthy rival and manage to defend voters’ interests,” one of the leaders of the bloc Zurab Zhvania said on September 25.
Zurab Zhvania intended to run for MP himself in the Saburtalo constituency, which is one of the largest in the capital city. However, later he decided not to run for the single-mandate constituency. Zhvania will be included in the Burjanadze-Democrats’ electoral list of the MP candidates.
Givi Targamadze of another opposition National Movement party will also run for MP in the same constituency. The pro-governmental election bloc has not nominated its MP candidate so far.
