Georgian-Russian Economic Forum Held in Tbilisi

On initiative of Vakhtang Rcheulishvili, leader of the Socialist Party of Georgia and member of the presidential-backed election bloc For New Georgia, the Russian-Georgian economic forum started in Tbilisi on October 16.

The representatives of Russian and Georgian governmental and business circles are participating in the forum, which is held in the State Chancellery (the President?s administration). 

Georgian President Shevardnadze welcomed today the Russian delegation, which consist of high-rank representatives of the Council of Federation and the Union of Entrepreneurs, as well as Russian businessmen.  

The issues of the Russo-Georgian economic relations and the prospects of their development, as well as the implementation of joint projects will be discussed during the forum.

?This kind of forums will further boost economic ties between the two countries,? Arkadi Volski of the Russia?s Union of Entrepreneurs said at the forum.

The members of the Russian delegation will meet with Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze, Foreign Minister Irakli Menagarishvili and other officials later today.
