President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov will pay an official visit to Georgia on October 9-10.
The delegation will include members of the Uzbek government and businessmen.
During the meeting with Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze, the sides will discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation.
The Presidents will also discuss the cooperation within the framework of GUUAM [Georgia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Moldova].
A number of inter-state agreements on development of trade and economic cooperation are also planned to be signed.
During the visit of President Shevardnadze to Uzbekistan in 1995, the Presidents of the two states signed an Agreement on Friendship and Cooperation.
