(Tbilisi, June 7, Civil Georgia) – At the Parliamentary session today Interior Minister Koba Narchemashvili and General Prosecutor Nugzar Gabrichidze will inform the MPs concerning the acts of valances during the local self-governance elections on June 2.
It is anticipated that the MPs will demand detail information regarding the incident in Rustavi, main town of Kvemo Kartli region, when according to the reports up to 40 persons attacked the minibus and hijacked voting ballots, that caused cancellation of the locals in Rustavi.
The General Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia investigates the case.
At the Parliamentary session on June 4 Chairperson of the Parliament Nino Burjanadze expressed hope that the Interior Minister and the General Prosecutor will not inform the MPs “generally, but report details, concerning the criminal act in Rustavi.”
