(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, August 6, 2002) – The votes cast on June 2 local elections in Kutaisi, main town of Imereti region, western Georgia will be recounted.
The Parliamentary special commission, which investigates the violations during the elections, took the decision on August 5, because of the numerous procedural violations observed during the locals in Kutaisi. The votes recounting will start on August 7 in the building of Parliament.
The Central Election Commission of Georgia has already started votes recounting cast in Tbilisi local election.
