The International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED) protests groundless dismissal of the chairmen of precinct election commissions, saying that such actions may jeopardize holding of fair November 2 parliamentary elections.
18 chairmen of precinct election commissions were dismissed in a western Georgian city of Kutaisi on October 28.
“We also condemn frequent cases of pressure on voters. Misuse of state resources by the high-rank officials to support their favorite MP candidates is violation of the election legislation,” the statement issued by ISFED on October 30 reads.
