Georgian Defense Minister said on November 9 the situation in the country is “practically out of control” as thousands of protesters demand President Shevardnadze’s resignation.
“I think nothing good is going on here at the moment, and the situation has practically gone out of control. The situation is actually uncontrollable,” Defense Minister David Tevzadze told the reporters.
Confrontation between the authorities and the opposition increased in the capital as talks between the opposition leaders and President Shevardnadze late on November 9 ended without a deal.
Opposition accuses Shevardnadze of manipulating the November 2 parliamentary election results.
