Kamal Muradkhanov, member of the opposition National Movement party and MP candidate from the Bolnisi single-mandate constituency in Kvemo Kartli, joined today the hunger strike by three opposition MPs in front of the Parliament building.
He claimed the elections in Kvemo Kartli were completely rigged and expressed his support to the hunger strikers.
Four members of the National Movement’s regional branch also went on hunger strike in a western Georgian city of Kutaisi, protesting against mass ballot fraud by the authorities.
The opposition’s protest rally continues in front of the Parliament building for already the fifth day, demanding cancellation of the election results and Shevardnadze’s resignation.
