Mikheil Saakashvili, a key opposition leader, urged his supporters “to march on the State Chancellery,” President Shevardnadze’s office on November 19.
“After the Shevardnadze’s [today’s] statement that he will not resign, it became necessary to march on the State Chancellery,” Mikheil Saakashvili said at a news briefing this evening.
“We have a constitutional right to rally everywhere. This will be a peaceful demonstration. I promise President Shevardnadze that he will not be attacked,” Saakashvili added.
