Authorities of the Adjara Autonomous Republic announced, that Batumi cuts ties with central authorities.
?Adjara Autonomous Republic condemns violent coup attempt and cuts all ties with criminals, who took over the power of the central government with force,? the decree issued by head of Adjara Autonomous Republic Aslan Abashidze reads.
Abashidze also announced the state of emergency for one month term and ceased railway connection between Batumi, capital of Adjara and Tbilisi.
Aslan Abashidze was Shevardnadze?s ally during the political standoff in Georgia, which sparked after fraudulent November 2 parliamentary elections.
He is a long-time rival of the political group, which took over the power in the country after November 23 bloodless revolution.
