Abashidze Reportedly Left for Moscow

Reports say Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze left for Russian capital this evening, after announcing state of emergency in Adjara Autonomous Republic.

De facto president of Georgia?s breakaway region South Ossetia Eduard Kokoev told reporters today in Moscow that he will meet Aslan Abashidze. Details of the Abashidze visit remain confidential.

?Do not think that talks between me and Abashidze are aimed at conspiracy against Georgia,? Eduard Kokoev said.

Abashidze announced on November 23 that he cuts ties with the central authorities of Georgia and condemned bloodless revolution as “a coup attempt by the criminals.”
