Election Watchdog Demands Investigation of Ballot Fraud

Zurab Chiaberashvili, head of the election observer organization International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED), met General Prosecutor Nugzar Gabrichidze and delivered documents regarding the manipulation of November 2 parliamentary elections.

The ISFED demands prosecution of those members of the Central Election Commission (CEC) who allegedly assisted authorities in rigging the election results, which eventually led to the street protesters and resignation of Eduard Shevardnadze.

The Supreme Court canceled November 2 parliamentary election results, because of numerous violations during the vote count.
