The Guardian reported today quoting unnamed sources from Russian security establishment, that the Russian military intelligence agency GRU has allocated part of its budget to sabotage Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline.
According to the Guardian the GRU, has allegedly allocated money towards hiring or training eco-warriors and mercenaries to sabotage.
?The plan is not yet believed to be active, although the GRU has allegedly begun training a cell of ecologists,? the Guardian reported on December 1.
Consortium led by British Petroleum runs the multi billion BTC pipeline, which is to carry Azeri oil to the Turkish Mediterranean port of Ceyhan via Georgia. BP declined to comment on report.
