Presidential candidate Mikheil Saakashvili left for the Ukrainian capital Kiev on December 12.
Today Saakashvili holds a meeting with the leader of the Ukrainian opposition Viktor Yushchenko.
Mikheil Saakashvili, who is widely expected to win the presidential elections scheduled for January 4, remarked regarding the Ukrainian opposition leader on 10 December in a keynote speech at a congress of his party National Movement.
“I am very grateful to our Ukrainian friends. I would like to say that in just four, five or six months – the entire world knows it – Viktor Yushchenko will be the next president of Ukraine and we will have a very close friend in Ukraine, in the government,” Saakashvili said.
