Russian President Vladimir Putin today reiterated his support to the territorial integrity of Georgia.
“After disintegration of the Soviet Union, we faced a number of conflicts in the former Soviet states, including those in Nagorny Karabakh, Abkhazia and South Ossetia. It does not mean that all these conflicts should be settled at the expense of Russia. We are ready to mediate between the conflicting sides,” President Putin said in the live broadcast of the Russian state television on December 18.
Interim President Nino Burjanadze is expected to visit Russia next week.
