Russia to Extradite Alleged Kidnapper Kingpin

Georgian State Security Minister will arrive in Moscow on December 26 to take personal charge of extradition of Shota Chichiashvili, who is suspected in several high-profile abductions in Georgia in recent years.

Georgian law enforcers, in cooperation with the Russian counterparts detained Shota Chichiashvili in Moscow on June 24.

Security Minister said on December 25 that Chichiashvili allegedly masterminded kidnappings of two Spanish businessmen in 2000, Georgian Parliamentarian Petre Tsiskarishvili and the British banker Peter Shaw in 2002.

Chichiashvili, 28, is wanted by the Georgian law enforcers since 1997. According to the Interior Ministry Chichiashvili led a group of criminals, which was organizing kidnappings.
