Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Zurab Tchiaberashvili said today that the CEC would not receive the voter lists submitted by the Adjara Autonomous Republic.
“The voter lists submitted by the Adjarian authorities on the eve of the November 2 parliamentary elections were inflated,” Zurab Tchiaberashvili said at a news briefing on December 26.
Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze still refuses to hold January 4 presidential elections in Adjara.
Zurab Tchiaberashvili said that the elections in Adjara depend on the political decision. “We are ready to supply the polling stations in Adjara with all the necessary equipment to hold elections,” he added.
