Chief Prosecutor: Shevardnadze’s Relative to be Interrogated

Georgian General Prosecutor said the investigation will be launched into the wrongdoings in port of Poti, which led to misappropriation of funds from the state budget.

He said that relatives of former President Eduard Shevardnadze will be interrogated over the alleged illegal transactions that took place in port of Poti during the recent years.

“We suspect that Guram Akhvlediani [Eduard Shevardnadze’s daughter-in-law’s father] was involved in the illegal transactions. I think he will be interrogated,” Irakli Okruashvili, the chief prosecutor of Georgia said.
