The General Prosecutor’s Office summoned Interior Ministry’s several former high officials for interrogation regarding the alleged misuse of power and corruption cases in the ministry.
Former Deputy Interior Minister Davit Todua, former chief of the traffic police Davit Kobakhidze and former official of the Tbilisi police department Tamaz Alania will be questioned on February 9 in the Prosecutor’s Office.
Irakli Okruashvili, General Prosecutor told reporters that the law enforcers suspect Tamaz Alania in organizing attack against the peaceful demonstrators last November in western Georgian town of Zugdidi, when three protesters were injured after the armed group opened fire to the opposition rally.
