Georgian Leader in Moscow

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili pays a two-day official visit to Moscow on February 10-11 to hold talks with the Russian leadership.

Georgia’s new leader will meet his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on February 11.

It is anticipated that the Abkhaz conflict, Russia’s two military bases in Georgia and terrorism would top the agenda during the talks between Saakashvili and Putin.

Georgian President said last week that he does not expect “miracles and breakthrough” from this one visit to Moscow.

“However, I expect that the positive trends would prevail in the relations between the two countries,” Mikheil Saakashvili said.

The Georgian President is accompanied by Prosecutor General Irakli Okruashvili, Finance Minister Zurab Nogaideli, businessman Gogi Topadze and others.
