“I came here to make friend with you,” Saakashvili told Putin before the talks on February 11.

“Georgia is a small country but with its great history and pride. And part of its history is connected with Russia, which is a superpower,” Saakashvili told his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

“Russia always did outmost to assist Georgia, especially in energy sector, when Georgia suffered with extreme lack of power,” Vladimir Putin said.

“We know statement made by you in Georgia, as well as while being abroad, regarding Russia and I am sure these statements are positive signals aiming at revitalizing Russo-Georgia relations,” Putin added.
